STPS Board History
STPS board members are community representatives appointed by their Chief and Council. Each member comes from one of ten communities where the Stl'atl'imx Tribal Police Service functions within the St'at'imc Nation. Of the eleven communities in this nation, ten have opted into this tribal police service. Board members meet monthly on the third Thursday of the month for their regular board meetings. Its members form five committees; Finance, Human Resources, Policy & Governance, Special Purposes and Website. The board is a dedicated and committed group. Some members are new to their service and some are long-term representatives. Regardless of their length of service, all members strive to provide direction to the Chief Officer in the governance of the STPS and to maintain oversight of the budget and policies.
