The STPS provides full service policing to ten participating St'at'imc communities. The expansive St'at'imc traditional territory covers over 20,000 square kilometres of BC's Coast Mountain region. Communities in southern St'at'imc include; Lil'wat Nation, N'Quatqua, Samahquam, Skatin and Xa'xtsa. Communities in northern St'at'imc include; Sekw'el'was, T'it'q'et, Tsal'alh, Ts'kw'aylaxw and Xaxli'p. The service functions under a Tripartite agreement signed by the Chiefs of the communities, the BC Ministry of Public Safety (PSSG) and Public Safety Canada. The STPS is one of over a dozen BC Municipal Police Services, however, its stands out as the only First Nations policing organization in the province.
